HazeWatch SEA combines distinct forms of evidence. None should be read as a live photograph or a source-attribution result.

NEA: official Singapore readings

Contains information from NEA’s PM2.5 and PSI datasets, accessed on the observation/retrieval dates shown in the app, made available through data.gov.sg under the Singapore Open Data Licence version 1.0. API fields are pm25_one_hourly and psi_twenty_four_hourly. Units and averaging periods differ. Historical readings use the same official APIs, not an invented curve.

NASA FIRMS / NOAA: thermal detections

Acknowledgement: NASA Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS), NASA LANCE, and NOAA-20/NOAA-21 VIIRS near-real-time products. Public regional downloads; field definitions and limitations. We keep nominal/high-confidence detections within the stated regional box and rolling time window. Acquisition times are distinct from retrieval times. Optional seven-day history records detection days, not continuous burning.

FRP is recorded fire radiative power. Summing across repeated passes is a display-ranking statistic, not total daily emissions. Major areas use density clustering; small/single detections are also displayed, more dimly. All displayed dots originate from validated records; brightness changes are decorative. No NASA/NOAA endorsement is implied.

Open-Meteo: modelled wind

Wind data by Open-Meteo, under CC BY 4.0. The app samples modelled 10m wind, converts meteorological from-directions into travel vectors, interpolates those vectors and accelerates their display. These are display adaptations, not new observations. Valid and retrieval times are available in each map’s wind details.

The free hosted API terms separately restrict the service to non-commercial use and impose limits. Free access to HazeWatch SEA does not grant permission to use that hosted service in an advertising, subscription or promotional business. Commercial operation needs appropriate rights or a replacement source before activation. No billable fallback is configured.

Geography and font

Contains URA’s Master Plan 2019 Planning Area Boundary (No Sea), accessed 18 October 2026 via data.gov.sg under the Singapore Open Data Licence. Its union and simplified outline are illustrative, not a surveyed current coastline.

Regional/country/province and Johor context: Natural Earth, public domain, projected/simplified for display. Country/island labels are approximate geographic anchors. Data coverage does not expand merely because the map can zoom out farther.

Hanken Grotesk is served locally under the SIL Open Font Licence. Hosting: Cloudflare Pages. No street-map tile service or Google Fonts request is used in this update.

Independence and updates

This is an independent prototype, with no official affiliation or endorsement. Source availability and terms can change. Report corrections through the operator contact once it has been supplied. The Terms explain interpretation limits; the Privacy notice describes the supplied app’s data practices.
